Las Vegas, glittering home to some of the most spectacularentertainment on Earth, is about to be treated to a show like they've never seen before. Popular kabuki actor Ichikawa Somegoro will appear next month on stage in front of the world-famous fountains at the Bellagio Hotel to perform the kabuki classic, "Fight With A Carp."
Son of Matsumoto Koshiro, who himself took Broadway by storm in "The King and I," and brother to top actress Takako Matsu, Somegoro hails from one of the Kabuki world's most illustrious families.
A perpetual summer favorite since the Edo Era, "Fight With A Carp" will have Somegoro in full kabuki splendor diving into the Italian palace-inspired hotel's eight acre pond to wrestle with the carp.
It will be Kabuki like nobody in Japan nor the world has ever seen. Running for three days only in August against the celebrated fountains, it already has Japanese fans clamoring to book their flights to Vegas.
Come hear Somegoro's story of bringing his ambitious project to the entertainment capital of the world.
Somegoro will be joined by Jay Sakomoto, President & CEO, Shochiku Co., Ltd., and Ed Bowers, Representative Officer & CEO, MGM Resorts Japan, LLC.
